Chess-à-Tête is a competitive 2-player card game that blends the tactical depth of chess with fast-paced card combat. Designed for chess players and strategy gamers, it delivers intense head-to-head battles without the need for a board. Chess-à-Tête is built around the same core principles that make chess timeless: positioning, tempo, sacrifice, and long-term planning. Every card represents a familiar chess role, reimagined with unique tactical abilities that reward foresight over luck.

Chess-à-Tête: Expansion Collection introduces three modular expansion packs that expand the strategic depth of the base game while preserving its minimal-luck, skill-driven design.

Each expansion represents a distinct playstyle and can be used individually or combined. All packs include mirrored Black and White cards to ensure perfectly balanced deck construction.

Knight Expansion – Force and Fury
Focuses on aggressive, high-tempo play. New Knights, Berserker and Archer pawns, and offensive action cards reward decisive attacks, pressure, and momentum-driven strategies.

Bishop Expansion – Shadows and Strategy
Emphasises deception, manipulation, and information control. Players gain tools to disrupt opponents, resurrect pieces, alter rules, and influence decision-making through misdirection.

Rook Expansion – Hold the Line
Built around defence, control, and endurance. Fortification mechanics, board disruption, and counterplay options allow players to absorb pressure and punish overextension.

All expansions integrate seamlessly with the base game without increasing rules complexity.
