Lines of Action Simul

Simultaneous Exhibitions (aka ‘Simul’) are a well known concept from Chess. A strong player, typically a Grandmaster, plays multiple games at the same time against different opponents.

In this unique event, you can book your ticket to take part in a Lines of Action Simul against 7x World Champion James Heppell.

Lines of Action is a quick to play and easy-to-learn Abstract board game. You can find the rules and play online against humans and bots at PlayStrategy.

James has participated at the Mind Sports Olympiad for many years, winning the prestigious overall Pentamind World Championship in 2015 and 2017. James has won the flagship Lines of Action event on 7 occasions, most recently in 2024.

The Simul event is open to players of all levels, and will be run by the team behind the Mind Sports Olympiad and PlayStrategy on their stand in Hall 4.

You can come and learn the game at the stand before the event. You can also try your hand at winning the 2025 UK Championship by booking your ticket here, and the 4-player tournament here.

Any player who can win against James Heppell will receive free entry to the Mind Sports Olympiad Lines of Action World Championship tournament in London in August (precise date TBA).
