Running Hot
Description
A 30-player pre-cyberpunk megagame.
In the far future, the British government is nearing economic collapse. Desperate, it passed the “Megacorp Act”, allowing 4 corporations to take complete control of a several-thousand square mile area just outside Sheffield, in exchange for significant tax payments. Running Hot begins 6 months after the act is passed in Parliament. It is the opening day of the new state called “Procatorion” and the dawn of a new era in British history. Whether this will be a success or not is up to you.
Half of the players in this game will be Corporations, doing their best to make Procatorion a lucrative and orderly corporate state - and, if possible, to edge out the competition. The other half are the Runners - technological savants with the skills to thrive in this new, deregulated environment. Will they end up as well-paid Corporate employees? Or will they decide the city has to be destroyed?
Corporation players will spend the day passing laws, researching new technologies, and securing their infrastructure from infiltration. Runners will spend the day building their rigs, infiltrating corporations, and spending their hard-gotten loot. Everyone will need to spend time negotiating and planning, and make sure to have some friends somewhere in the room. Whatever shape Procatorion takes, it will be a mix of everyone's efforts that define it.
In order to assign you an appropriate role within the game, and communicate rules and briefings prior to the expo, the organisers of this event will be given your contact details, to be used solely for the administration of this game.
You will also need a valid UKGE entry ticket to attend this event.
