The Carcassonne Museum
The game of Carcassonne has a place in many household’s board game collection.
It has a simple mechanic of laying tiles, building roads and cities and scoring points.
Throughout the over 20 years since the game’s first release, the game has been released in 37 languages, has seen many expansions and several updates to the art style of the game.
Where some people like to play the base game, some people like to collect all the different expansions and special editions. And some take this collecting to a whole new level!
The Carcassonne Museum is the personal collection of Willem, based on the South coast of England. His collection has grown to be one of the, if not the, largest collections of the Carcassonne game in the world!
Willem and his Carcassonne Museum have over 450 different boxes, all of Carcassonne! This includes games in 31 languages, Spin-off games in the Carcassonne family and many special editions that have been released over the years.
Through the online forum of Carcassonne Central, Willem has been in touch with many players of the game from many different countries, helping him to find more and more releases to add to the Museum.
To share his enthusiasm and knowledge of the game, Willem has begun an Instagram account, where he has been sharing daily posts about the Carcassonne game, taking people along on the journey of growing the collection.
Although space is already running out, Willem is showing no sign of stopping his collection, until he has collected every (officially released) box of the game.
