UKGE Kids RPG

Children's Roleplaying:

The children’s RPG involves games of story telling, team work and adventure for 7 to 12 year olds and is located in Hall 2 next to our Family and Let's Play Zones.

No experience is necessary just head along to the stand and book your space for adventure!

This year we are delighted to announce that this zone has a sponsor!

New as Children's RPG Sponsors:

Steve Jackson Games are sponsoring the children's RPG for 2021 using their 36-years-in-the-making games system: "The Fantasy Trip."

Described as an "old school" style RPG but now brought up to date for the 21st century, The Fantasy Trip will be converted for a special children's version at this year's Expo.

You can find out more about The Fantasy Trip here.

Write the children's RPG adventure for the Expo!

This year is also special in that we are inviting all children who are aspiring writers and game authors to tell us what the Fantasy Trip adventure should be!

This competition is open to children aged between 7 and 12 (the same age as the RPG sessions) on Monday 31st May 2021 and will be your chance to tell us what the RPG session should be about.

Submissions MUST be received by Monday 12th April 2021.

You will need to tell us in 250 words max:

  • An adventure title
  • A baddie
  • A location
  • A treasure or precious item
  • An Objective or Quest

Give us an idea for each thing.

For example:

  • Tell us about the location the heroes will adventure in: are they at sea? In the desert? In a city? In an old ruined castle?
  • Tell us what the treasure is: Is it a thing? A weapon? A wish? A person? A creature?  A map? A fabulously expensive item? Tonnes of gold?
  • Tell us why the treasure needs to be found by the heroes: Is it very valuable? Will it save someone's life? Was it lost by a child? Is it the right thing to do?
  • Why the baddie is a baddie and what he/she/they or it is like: Grumpy? Sad? Bad? Mean? Misunderstood?

All ideas to be emailed to: marketing@ukgamesexpo.co.uk

Submissions MUST be received by Monday 12th April 2021.

A final winning scenario will be chosen by Monday 19th April and announced on the Expo website and social media channels.

That scenario will be used as the basis for the Children's RPG adventure this year, and the winner will get a "The Fantasy Trip" Prize Package.

Good luck budding fantasy game authors, we look forward to seeing your adventure ideas!
