Ian Livingstone knighted

UK Games Expo would like to add our own congratulations to co-founder of Games Workshop and co-author of the Fighting Fantasy books, Ian Livingstone as we hear of his Knighthood in the New Year Honours list 2022.

The honour, that of Knights Bachelor, is for 'services to online gaming' and follows on from his receiving of an OBE in 2006 and a CBE in 2013. In 2014 , Sir Ian along with Steve Jackson were inducted into the UK Games Expo Hall of Fame.

UKGE has always recognised the profound influence of Ian and Steve both on the development of the tabletop games hobby and industry and also on the personal backgrounds in the hobby of many of the Expo's organisers, particularly the directors.

This is a well deserved honour. Sir Ian is a frequent guest of UK Games Expo and this news was very welcome.

When we asked him about the honour, Sir Ian replied

I am delighted and very proud to have been awarded a Knighthood. It is fantastic recognition for the games industry and the brilliant people who are part of it. I have enjoyed every minute of my 47 years in the industry since co-founding Games Workshop in 1975, and long may it continue!
