Ares Games brings larger-than-life games and an exclusive preview to UKGE 2023

An exclusive preview of the solo mode expansion of War of the Ring – The Card Game; a giant version of Quartermaster General WW1 and WW2 games, and a massive WW1 Wings of Glory dogfight are the highlights of the gaming action at the Ares Games stand (1-514) during UK Games Expo 2023.

During the three days of UKGE, visitors will have the chance to try for the first time Against the Shadow , the solo and cooperative expansion of War of the Ring – The Card Game, inspired by Lord of the Rings trilogy and designed by Ian Brody. In the game, each player controls one or more of the factions in War of the Ring, either on the side of the Free Peoples or of the Shadow Armies. This first expansion will allow solo and cooperative play up to two players, as the Shadow factions are handled automatically, using special decks of cards included in the expansion.

Quartermaster General will be also in the spotlight during the entire show, with a giant table where Quartermaster General WW Second Edition and Quartermaster General: 1914 games will be played all the time, in a unique version three times as large as the regular game, alternating sessions of WW1 and WW2 versions

On Sunday, at 11:00, UKGE attendees are invited to take part to the 2nd Battle of Birmingham, a big participation event for the WW1 Wings of Glory, a miniature game where players control one or more airplanes, taking to the skies to engage their opponents in aerial duels. New players will be welcome – Ares’ demo crew will help everyone to enter the battle in few minutes, and an airplane miniature will be provided to the participants to play with.
