Fareham and Gosport Board game lounge

I created a Group 'Fareham & Gosport Board Game Lounge' and advertised it in the local community pages. We started building numbers. What a buzz that was to see the group grow from 2 to 20... 40 .... and more. Then we held our first proper meetup in November 2021 just as Covid was easing. The hall holds 60+. Myself & Heather put out tables and chairs for all those we hoped would come.. 8 people came along but it was the best night of gaming I ever had. These 8 strangers, all sharing the same hobby, sat on the same table and chatted, played games and had the best time.

Nowadays we regularly get between 40 + 60 'Meeples' turning up from 18 to 70+ in age and having zero experience, to tens of years. We run a couple of newbies tables to introduce these newbies into the hobby. Playing shorter, lighter games that really show the enjoyment that can be had from this hobby. I love seeing the community spirit, friendliness, willingness to help, socialising and make new friends that comes from these meet ups both physically on the night and online in the group.
