Bromley Board Gamers

We are a group that has been meeting every Monday since 2018 , we play a wide variety of board games from heavy titles that take the evening to light fare where a table gets through many different games in a night ! Size wise we normally have 3-4 tables playing at each meeting.  Our members range from Students to Retirees brought together by a shared love of board gaming and its community. We are a welcoming lot so if you are new to the hobby that's not a problem we'll ease you in. 

One thing that often stops people joining a new club is the fear of the unknown, unknown people, unknown location and not knowing what's going to happen. The rest of this description is a guide to how to signup for a monday event and what to expect. 

People signup on the facebook group to an event which is sent out to all member generally on a friday, They click "I'm going" in the facebook event to say they are attending. There is a small cover charge, this covers our hall rental and lets us know you are attending so we know roughly how many tables needed.

There is a thread in that facebook event where people are talking about games they are bringing or want to play. People may chime in and some slots in these games are pre-organised . This is not mandatory and most games are sorted out on arrival.

Turn up ! We are in the Parlour room of the Petts Wood methodist church. Come in the door at the rear of the church halls and turn left. Around 6 p.m. we will be setting up the tables, covers and chairs needed. People tend to bring bags of their games which are put on a communal table for usage, so there is always a good choice and you don't "have" to bring anything.

At this point we introduce everyone and organise the people we have to tables as best we can. If you are new to the hobby we will introduce you with something lighter, if you see something you like you can join that table. All the tables will have a leader who will do the "teach" of the game so you don't have to know anything turning up.

As games wrap up new ones are started, taught and played so most tables get through a few games in the evening.

 At 10p.m. we wrap up , tidy away the tables and chairs and head home. Some people leave earlier for trains etc. If you plan to leave early just let people know so we can plan shorter games to finish in time or where your absence doesn't interrupt the enjoyment of the other players.
