Welcome to the world of the Gloomies! These intergalactic beings simply love to grow and decorate with beautiful flowers.  This two-phase game invites players to score the most points through growing and then harvesting out-of-this-world flowers.  With gameplay centred around the beautifully-designed board housed in the game’s box, players begin in phase one by ‘planting’ a series of pretty flowers – acquiring handy bonus tokens along the way that could add vital points later in the game. They must play their cards carefully and strategically to position themselves well for phase two of the game. The second phase will see players now harvest blooms they grew in the first phase. Each flower harvested must be used to adorn Gloomies characters – and careful, strategic placement will contribute to a bigger final score. 

The gameplay board can be turned and flipped for added replay-ability.

Inspired by Ravensburger’s popular Minecraft Builders & Biomes game, Minecraft Builders & Biomes Junior invites younger players to experience a tabletop take on the videogame phenomenon.  In this cooperative game, players will work together to build a farm before monsters block their path. On each turn, players turn a card to reveal either an animal or a monster. If uncovering an animal, they’ll need to ‘mine’ the correct blocks to build them a home on the farm. The players win if they manage to complete their farm before monsters block their path.  This game introduces collaborative play, as well as fostering fine motor skills as players must use careful skills to obtain the blocks they need to build.  By utilising special cards, they can even call upon another player to help them move blocks using the tools. 

With an easy-to-learn and inviting format for younger players, Minecraft Builders & Biomes Junior also includes further challenges to increase difficulty as players become more experienced. 

Flock to the tabletop for ‘fowl’ play and laughter in this quick to play social party game. The aim of the game is simple: be the first to fill your bench with pigeons by playing your cards cleverly. You may find yourself stealing birds from an opponent, collecting more from the central flock or even swapping benches.  Play the ‘Oh My Pigeons!’ card and you’ll need to roll the dice to determine your next action. Roll the bird poop, and you’ll have the chance to take aim and flick the die knocking pigeons from an opponent’s bench. 

 

Younger players are introduced to the world of Burgundy in this children’s game inspired by The Castles of Burgundy. Also from Stefan Feld, along with Susanna Feld, this game translates features from the classic game to a format ideal for welcoming the youngest family members to the table. This time in Burgundy, players are challenged to search for decorations hidden under sandcastles and fill their shops in time for a visit from Queen Crab before her royal beach party. There’s an advantage to be had in securing help from one of the queen’s guards, but can you remember which sandcastle they were under?
