A Sudden onset of Smog & Slaughter

Your Circle is awaiting its 1st assignment in lodgings in the outskirts of the very edge western Newfaire & where it adjoins Westwreck. Gathered together for a small dinner, your Lightkeeper “Lord Narvic Pertwee” unexpectedly enters. He brings in with him a clinging thick fog; tendril-like, it seems as if it is reaching out to drag him away.

He exhibits a deeply furrowed & fearful brow whilst breathing heavily & sweating profusely, even for his evident years….. He edgily informs your Circle that it has its first Candela Assignment plus an almost glib throwaway comment of “Two other Circles have yet to return from the very early hours' fog of this morning, when whatever it is first showed itself, or even to communicate any news; they were, maybe still are, partly, the Circles of ‘The White Stag’ & ‘Never Lost or Found’. After yester eve's dark & dank pea-souper fog, another one has suddenly and rapidly enveloped areas of the town. All fear that more smog means more dreadful slaughter; to date the smog seems to have slaughtered over 40 residents & two circles in roughly 22 hours; 52 people in total have been lost.”.

Your Circle's task is to determine what is the real cause behind the Smog & Slaughter; particularly where it all emanates from, and if any, or some, of the other two circles have somehow somewhere, errrm, ‘survived’.

Lord Narvic has only one last question for you all; “What equipment might you need in order to set out from your lodgings promptly? You need to urgently & cautiously GO!”. 

An inclusivity supporting adventure of up to 4 hours & that can lead to further online sessions after Games Expo 2025.

For 6 Players

         An Adventure suitable for Beginners & Players of all other experience levels

A selection of pre-generated characters will be available immediately at the start of the RPG session. Alternatively, Players are welcome to submit their own self-created character by no later than 28th May & having used the most current version of the Candela Obscura rules [November 14th, 2023].

The relevant dice will be provided, on loan, for the session. Similarly, pencils with erasers and note paper/card will be reasonably available. Everything, of course, to be handed back at the end of the session.

Players are welcome to bring their own PC figure or Token if they wish to. Theatre of Mind will be used along with any relevant maps to represent environments & buildings (using 5*5mm grids suitable for 25-28mm sized figures & tokens) &/or provide strategic clarity as determined by the Game Master.

The only requirements for Players to bring are: 

         The want to have FUN in a cooperative, interactive & collaborative storytelling session of tension

         The respect to their fellow Players of being in good time for the start of session.
