Sleeper: Orphans of the Cold War

A science fiction horror roleplaying game releasing at Uk Games Expo 2015!

They made you to fight the Cold War in the wake of a nuclear conflict. You can do things no one can – maybe should – ever do. Now your war has changed – protect the world from the weapons deployed by the superpowers that, like you, are starting to wake up in a world unprepared for them. You are a superhuman sleeper agent, and without you, the secrets of the twentieth century will destroy the twenty-first.

Sleeper: Orphans of the Cold War is a new science fiction tabletop roleplaying game from Death Spiral Games, with themes of conspiracy horror. Its setting is created by renowned game-related fiction writer Ben Counter, and its system provides for fast-paced military action. Players take on the roles of superhuman agents created by the Cold War powers to fight for supremacy in the aftermath of a nuclear war – but that war never came, and now they have woken in a world where they must band together to fight the many threats left over that the world knows nothing about. Ranged against them are the setting’s enemies, a host of vicious conspiracies, forgotten secret weapons and outright monsters vividly realised in a fully fleshed-out game world.

Sleeper: Orphans of the Cold War is a 300+ page core rulebook and accompanying fiction novella, entitled Baron, the first of a series of game and fiction products set in the Sleeper universe. The game is live on Kickstarter and getting plenty of buzz already, and is slated to be released at the 2015 UK Games Expo.
