A Great Family Day Out!

Fun for all ages

UK Games Expo is a great event to attend with the family. There are dedicated gaming areas where you can learn to play games together as well as hundreds of exhibitors demoing and selling the latest games for all ages. There are facepainting services. Children can play their first roleplaying games in the Children's RPG area. Meet the Orcs and Vikings in the Orc Encampment and Viking Village and even train as a warrior. Dress up as characters from TV and movie and enter the cosplay competition or just come and watch the costumed characters parade across the stage and try and spot your favourites. Track down all the clues in our treasure hunt and maybe win a heap of games. Use the show app to play the app game. Take in a live entertainment show and explore the Chow Street Food Festival.

Actually one day may not be enough for all that fun...

Family zone

We know that some families spend almost their whole day in the Family Zone. Sponsored by HABA who make amazing children's games and run by Imagination Gaming this is all about playing games with the family. This year Imagination Gaming's great team of demonstrators are back with their game menus. Fancy a simple easy to play starter game, sir? Or perhaps we can recommend a main course game to get stuck into. Whatever your age and taste in games, whether you are new to games or experienced you can find a game you will enjoy with the whole family and not only that but they can teach you how to play too. In the family zone you will also find the Face Painters.

Children's Roleplaying Games

Our group of dedicated Children's Roleplaying Gamemasters are back in their own expanded and dedicated area in Hall 2 (Stand 2-D6), with four different games on the go, so youngsters can pick their fate, or come back for a second or even a third and forth helping.

The games are recommended for children aged Five to Twelve. No knowledge of rules is needed — just imagination and a willingness to learn. It is advisable to sign up early, as places fill up very quickly.

Cosplay and Reenactors

Always a popular part of UK Games Expo, the costumed groups attending this year will be coming from one of the darkest realms of fantasy and one of the most heroic periods of history. Our cosplayers will be bringing games to life as characters from films, tv and anime and will be joined by a bunch of hairy Vikings and even hairier wolfdogs. The activities will be going on both inside Hall 1 and Hall 2 at the Cosplay stands and the Main Stage as well as outside near the lake.

Solve the Treasure Hunt and win £300 worth of games each day

This is a children’s activity where they have to find clues around the venue to win a small prize. Every child has a chance of winning a larger prize - a pile of games from three exhibitors: Coiledspring Games, Gen 42 and The Historic Games Shop. Pick up a Treasure Hunt Sheet from the entrance area or the help desk and visit all the locations. Find the hidden letter at each location then put the letters together to spell a secret word. Return the form to the Help desk to get a Treasure Hunter Badge and enter into the draw for the big prize.
