OMINOES 2nd Edition hits the shops.

The Griffie Award winning dice tactics game

After the success of the 1st Edition ‘in a tin’ version selling out so quickly, YAY games have brought out a 2nd Edition. The Griffie Award winning dice tactics game for Everyone is already proving massively popular and has been nominated in 3 categories for the Imagination Gaming Awards.

“I think the simplicity helps,” said designer Andrew Harman when asked about why he thought Ominoes was proving so popular. “You’re trying to get groups of four or more of your chosen God colour together to score points. You roll an Ominoe dice, then move one that matches it 3 spaces in any direction and then place the rolled one anywhere on the board. You could be moving your own pieces or screwing your opponents up. Things get very tense and silly in just a few turns.”

Ominoes follows the YAY Games style already familiar from ‘Frankenstein’s Bodies’ and ‘Sandcastles’ – where simple games have a lot of backstabbing potential. “We’re all about getting to the fun as quickly as possible, so keeping it simple is what we’re about. We’re lucky that a lot of people like that approach.”

Andrew is already working on new ways to use the Ominoe dice discovered in the Egyptian desert in 1864 by his explorer ancestor.
