Blood, Roses and Alien Shamans

Inside the head of BadCatGames

BadCatGames is a new indie game design studio from Scotland presenting two games at UKGE this year. ElemenZ – our first, will be live on kickstarter during UKGE while Gladiatores will launch later in the year. Demos of both games will be available to try throughout the show.

ElemenZ – is a rapid dice management game of dueling alien shamans. Four alien cultures come together on planet Zee every seven years in a challenge to become the Master of wild Zee energy. Each culture has strong affinity with one of four archetypal forces and using a dice set representing the five energy forms, try to control the wild energy while draining dice from each other using combo and pulse effects channeled through huge totems. This gateway game for 3-4 players takes 20 seconds to set up, ~20mins to play, is graphically lush and fully child friendly!

Gladiatores: Blood for Roses – is a combat and plotting card game for 2-5 players with hidden roles and secret tactics. Gladiatores offers elements of bluffing, hand management and deduction. For ages 12+ and taking ~90mins, in Gladiatores each player becomes the Lanista (owner) of a gladiator school and places five unique gladiators into free-for-all combat melees at various events to gain Glory from prize money, crowd favour and winnings from secret bets. Each gladiator has a unique set of combat cards that simulate the visceral cut-and-thrust of arena combat. Be careful of secret alliances however, counter bets and your lanista who just might have made a deal with the enemy!
