Midlands start-up to put tabletop in the spotlight and unleash Ancient Rome in brand new game!

Battlefield Hobbies News

Hobby games event venue and retailer Battlefield Hobbies offers the full spectrum of games across all genres, but for UK Games Expo 2016 the team are honing in on one key aspect: tabletop gaming. Battlefield Hobbies will demonstrate six tabletop and figurine games, giving people the chance to try something different.

Visitors to the stand will be able to experience sci-fi armies in Beyond the Gates of Antares; WWII in Bolt Action; and murderous football in Guild Ball. For those into fantasy there’ll be skirmishes in Malifaux and armies in Warmachine & Hordes.

There will also be demonstrations in three different time periods of Flames of War: WWII, Vietnam, and Team Yankee.

And that’s not all; come along to the stand for a unique opportunity to play a brand new board game, Mortem et Gloriam.

See the game demoed and be the first to test-drive and pre-order this fast-moving and bloody encounter of Ancient Rome and its enemies. Officially launching in October, it takes just an hour to play and is crammed full of tactical decisions and thinking with four ready to use armies.

Following in the footsteps of Flames of War and Malifaux, Mortem et Gloriam’s creator, three-time IWF World Wargaming Champion and co-author of Field of Glory Simon Hall, has chosen Battlefield Hobbies’ large, flexible and comfortable gaming venue for its inaugural World Championships in July 2017.
